Year 11 Mock Examinations – Information for Year 11 Parents

Supporting your child in their mock examinations

Mock Examinations will run in January 2024 for Year 11 and June/July 2024 for Year 10.

Students will be examined on what they have learned in every subject they have studied since the start of Year 10. These examinations are important for a number of reasons. Firstly, they allow the school and you to gain an accurate picture of the progress your child has made so far. Secondly, they allow your child’s teachers to assess what your child knows and can do and what they do not know and what they cannot do: this information will be used to inform your child’s teachers’ planning so that they can progress even further. Finally, they are the most accurate indication, for colleges, further education providers and employers of your child’s potential outcomes at the end of Year 11.

In order to help you and your child to best prepare for their mock examinations, the school has compiled an information booklet which can be found here: Information Booklet

The school has also put together some short videos from each subject area explaining what you and your child can do in order to best prepare for their upcoming mock examinations. These can be found below. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the Pastoral or Curriculum Teams at school.
