Our Mission and Values

At St Cuthbert’s we believe that everyone is a child of God and deserves to be treated equally, fairly and with compassion.  Our Mission Statement makes it clear what we want from all of our community:

‘The Lord God requires of us that we should help others whenever we can, always make the right choices and be the best that we can be in everything that we do’.

We aspire for all of our students to become successful and lifelong learners with the knowledge, drive and skills to achieve their ambitions in life.  We want them to be inquisitive, independent and enthusiastic learners who value education as a route to success and happiness.

We want all of our students to grow and develop into the kind of citizens who will make their parents and  communities proud of them. They will be ingrained with British Values and Catholic Values which are very similar and at St Cuthbert’s they are based upon our core values which underpin our philosophy and practice:

Catholic – We help others whenever we can and will be outstanding ambassadors for our faith, our school and our community.

Aspiration – We continually seek to improve ourselves and improve the world in which we live.

Respect – We always make the right choices and treat others as we would like to be treated ourselves.

Excellence – To be the best that we can be in everything that we do and make the most of our God given talents

“ Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others,

as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”

 1 Peter 4:10
