Click on the section below to explore and learn more about the Child Development curriculum at St Cuthbert’s.
The primary intent of the Child Development Curriculum is to foster a deep understanding of child development and the roles and responsibilities of professionals in early years settings. This includes exploring the holistic development of children from pre-conception to the age of 5, encompassing physical, intellectual, social, and emotional growth. The curriculum aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to work in various childcare and early education roles, as well as prepare them for future studies in related fields or indeed for parenthood. All the learning takes place within a nurturing environment where all learners are valued and success in all its forms is celebrated. This fosters a shared drive towards success, with the expectation of achievement and being the best that we can be being shared by both students and staff.
Our Child Development subject leader is Mrs D Ellidge.
