Governance at St Cuthbert’ RC High School
The St Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Academy Trust Board has put in place a Trust Intervention Committee (TIC) as an interim governance arrangement for the St Cuthbert’s RC High School from 1st January 2026. This arrangement has been introduced to provide additional focus, support and oversight while the school continues its work to strengthen outcomes for pupils.
Acting on behalf of the Trust Board, the Trust Intervention Committee works closely with the Executive Headteacher and senior leaders to support improvement and ensure that leaders are held to account for the quality of education, pupil wellbeing and safeguarding. The committee is made up of experienced education and governance professionals who bring independent challenge alongside practical support.
The Trust Intervention Committee monitors key areas such as teaching and learning, behaviour and attendance, safeguarding, inclusion and the effective use of resources. While overall strategic responsibility remains with the Trust Board, this interim arrangement ensures strong local oversight and clear accountability, in line with sector expectations for effective governance.
This governance structure is reviewed regularly by the Trust Board and will remain in place for as long as it is needed to support the school’s continued improvement and stability.
